Activity Description:
-
Two teams are playing against each other in
the attempt to score more points than the other team.
-
Each team has one goal on which to score;
to score, players must pass the ball up the court and into the net.
|
Rules:
-
No goalies constantly protecting the goal.
-
Can only score from within 2 meters of goal.
-
Ball carrier may take no more than two steps.
|
Teaching Points:
-
Players will need to move to an open space
in order to receive a pass.
-
Players should communicate with each other,
letting ball carriers know who and where to pass to.
-
Short, quick passes will be more successful
than long, lob passes.
|
Organization Points:
-
If available, use hockey nets layed flat so
that students are shooting on a smaller target and to keep the level of
the balls lower. If hockey nets are not available, use a stick layed
across two large pilons or benches layed on their sides.
